Why should I visit ABC Travel Clinic?
ABC TRAVEL CLINIC INC. specializes in Travel Medicine and our healthcare practitioners are Members of the International Society of Travel Medicine who will provide you with all equipped information that you will need to stay well protected on your upcoming trip. We have all of the vaccines and medications that you may need for your trip conveniently available on-site and our staff can administer the vaccines and dispense medications to you during your visit.

Our goal is to provide excellent care to our clients and to ensure that they receive only the recommended vaccines and medications that they may require for their travel in order to stay healthy.

Where is the Clinic Located?
We are located in brand new facility easily accessible via TTC in the main intersections of Steeles and Yonge – “World on Yonge.” We are located on 7163 Yonge Street, on the 2nd Floor, Suite #282.
Where can I park?
Please park underground. There are lots of parking spaces available. If you choose to park on the upper level – on the street, please note that you only have 20 minutes to park there.
When should I book my Travel Consultation?

Ideally, we recommend that you book your initial travel consultation at least 4-6 weeks prior to travel. The reason for that is that some of the vaccines require a series of shots in order to provide you with the immunity that you will need for your trip in order to stay healthy. However, last minute booking is also available and we will try our very best to accommodate your schedule and to fit you in when it is the most convenient for you.

What do I need to bring to my appointment?

You will need to bring the following items to your appointment:

  • Complete itinerary: detailed information about your trip and specific cities and countries that you will be visiting as well as the length of stay in each of the cities/countries.
  • Complete Immunization Record. You can ask your physician to fax us a complete list of your vaccinations record if you do not have time to go to see him/her directly.

  • A complete list of your medications including over-the-counter medications, vitamins, and other healthcare medications.
How long is the Travel Consultation Last?

The travel consultation typically may last from 45 to 60 minutes per traveler.

Is Travel Medicine Covered by OHIP?

Unfortunately, Travel Medicine is not covered by OHIP. On our Website, under “Private Insurance Coverage” – you will be able to see a list of all of the vaccines and medications that we offer along with their Drug Identification Numbers (DINs). If you can, please ensure to call your Private Health Insurance to find out how much of the vaccines and medications they will be able to reimburse for you.

Where do I get my vaccination records?

The best way to get your vaccination records is through your Family Doctor.

Am I allowed to bring travel medicine over the border?

Most prescriptions medications will be allowed to bring over the border as long as it is prescription medications. For narcotics, opioids and controlled substances – you will need to receive a specialized letter to ensure that you can bring the medication over the border.

How should I store my travel medicine?

Each travel medication has specific instructions regarding special storage and handling. Please ensure to read the manufacturer’s monograph about your prescribed medication.

Will I get prescriptions during my appointment?

We have all the medications and travel supplies on site. Therefore, our clinic is a one-stop clinic where you can get all the recommended/required vaccinations, medications, and travel supplies that you may need for your trip.

Can I get Yellow Fever vaccine?

ABC Travel Clinic has been approved by the Public Health Agency of Canada to provide Yellow Fever Vaccination to any travelers who may require the vaccine.

Can I book Virtual Consultation any day?

For now, these are the dates that the virtual consultation will be offered:

Tuesdays 10 am – 12. 30 pm
Thursdays 10.am – 12.30 pm
Fridays 2 pm- 4.30 pm

Note: If the above dates and times do not fit your schedule, please email us at info@abctravelclinic.ca with the most convenient date and time and will try our very best to accommodate your request.

How much does a Virtual Consultation cost?

Virtual Consultation for 1 traveler is $38
Virtual Consultation for 3 or more travelers is $27

*Book a Virtual Consultation and get EXTRA $10 OFF when you come to the clinic to get your vaccinations.

Will I get my prescriptions for vaccines and medications after a virtual (video and phone) consultation?
ABC Travel Clinic has in stock all vaccines and medications on site. If the travel practitioner recommends certain medications for travel, prescriptions can be faxed to a client’s choice of pharmacy.

ABC Travel Clinic does not provide prescriptions for vaccines.
All recommended and required vaccinations for traveling vaccines can be provided on-site at the clinic by a licensed health care practitioner. A client will receive an additional $10 off discount upon returning to the clinic after a virtual consultation to get the recommended and/or required vaccines needed for their trip.

What is the difference between In-Clinic Consultation and Virtual Consultation?

Virtual consultation is intended for travelers who would like to get the most up-to-date information and health advice regarding their upcoming trip including the recommended/required vaccinations and medications related to their trip but cannot physically come to the clinic to get on site travel consultation.

How long does a Virtual Consultation last?
Virtual Travel Consultation lasts for about 30 minutes for one person.
Can you do a Virtual Consultation for a group of travelers?
Yes. Virtual Consultation can be done for the group up-to 6 people.

Should I come see someone in the clinic after a Virtual Consultation?

After a traveler receives a Virtual Travel Consultation, they can come to the clinic to get the recommended/required vaccinations and medications for their trip.
If they do come to the clinic to get the vaccines and medications – they will receive an EXTRA $10 off of the total invoice.

Is Virtual Consultation covered by insurance?

Virtual Travel Consultation may be covered by Insurance/Benefits. It will depend on the client’s insurance provider and the coverage that they have. It is always best to check with the insurance provider.

Do I get any discount when book Virtual Consultation?
Yes, you do. You will get a discount of $10 when you come to the clinic to get the recommended vaccines/medications for your trip after you have had the Virtual Consultation.
How does Virtual Consultation work?

I booked a Virtual Travel Consultation and already paid my consultation fee but then I would like to cancel. What do I do?

Cancellations can be made up to (maximum of) 24 hours prior to the initial appointment time and you will be reimbursed with a full refund.

What happens after I book my Virtual Consultation Appointment?
You will receive an email confirmation of your confirmed appointment date and time.
Then, you will need to fill out an Online Medical History intake form prior to your appointment. Finally, you will receive an email with your Comprehensive Itinerary related specifically to your travel destinations.
